Summer is usually the time of year where make up is not as much of a concern, you just want to get out and enjoy the sun! Here the my essentials for keeping make up to a minimum in the summertime...

1. Waterproof mascara

I think this as a pretty obvious choice. If I could choose one piece of make up to wear in the summer, it would be mascara because it istantly makes you look awake. I'd wear waterproof mascara whether I'm near water or not as it holds so well and doesn't smudge if you get sweaty. The Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara is my absolute favourite because my eyelashes look so long and it holds a curl so well!

2. Bright lips

If you want to add a pop of colour to your make-up, a bright colour on your lips is a good way to go. Red, coral, pink... any of these colours would be perfect. I would probably opt for matte lips as they often last longer The NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams are fantastic as they last ages without drying out you lips!

3. Tinted moisturiser

This is a staple for me because I hate wearing a heavy base in the summer. Tinted moisturisers often have SPF so you can look good whilst protecting your skin from the sun. I really like the No7 Stay Perfect Tinted Moisturiser.

4. Bronzer and highlight

Because I'm naturally so pale, I've never been too fussed about whether I tan or not. It just wouldn't suit me. However, I do like to add a little bit of warmth to my face with bronzer. Bronzer and highlighter go hand in hand to create a beautiful summer glow. I'd highly recommend the Sleek Face Form kit - it's so affordable but fantastic quality.

What are your summer make-up essentials?

Summer is here and festival season is well under-way. Therefore, I think it would be the perfect time to write a festival-themed blog post.  In the first part I'll be showing you some outfits in my wardrobe that are inspired by festival season, especially the most fashionable one out there - Coachella. The second part is about why festivals are so popular in the first place - the music! It's so amazing that festivals have so many artists in one place, which is why I thought of my dream line up in the form of a poster created by TickPick!

Let's start with the outfits...

This kimono has such beautiful colours and the fact that its so lightweight makes it perfect for dancing at a summer festival. With a white crop top and denim shorts, you can really let the kimono do the talking.
The second outfit is very bohemian thanks to this beautiful red dress. You have the classic boho style that comes around every summer, but the off shoulder detail is so on trend right now. A cute brown bag and sandals complement the dress perfectly. I would probably wear my hair in some sort of braided hairstyle.

Now onto the fun part - the music. What's great about festivals is that there are so many incredible artists in one place. With help from a great ticket website, TickPick, I was able to create my dream line up on a festival poster called 'Faux-chella'. Music is one of my biggest passions as well as blogging (I'm such a fangirl, seriously, go ahead and follow my  non-blogging twitter!), so TickPick is a great source for finding concert tickets NFL tickets and more! Anyway, here is the line up!

The headline acts are Beyonce, Coldplay and Calvin Harris. Beyonce is one of my favourite artists ever, I just love her music and how she represents powerful women. It would be a dream come true to see her live and so I knew she had to be on the line up for my dream festival. I also chose Coldplay, who have headlines a couple of festivals this year. What I  love about them is that they have songs that everyone knows, so you can guarantee that the whole crowd would be singing along. The third headlining act would be Calvin Harris to turn the festival into one massive party. Could you imagine if he brought on special guests like Rihanna? That would be AMAZING.

Following the headline acts are two of my favourite groups: Little Mix and Years & Years. I was lucky enough to see Little Mix in March this year and they are incredible live, their voices are amazing and they put on a brilliant show. Therefore, they would be great at a festival. Years & Years are playing at loads of festivals this year, and I love their album. They would bring such a cool atmosphere to the festival.

A lot of the artists I've included would have songs that everyone knows, like the amazing Jess Glynne and Clean Bandit. However, I included new artists that I love like Alessia Cara and Troye Sivan so people get to experience new music live - another great thing about festivals. Also, I had to support the youtube community and put Troye Sivan on the line up!

Are you going to any festivals this year? Who would be on your dream line up, and what would you wear?

Let's face it, when summer rolls around you rather spend less time getting ready and more time out in the sun. Therefore, it's the perfect time of year for dresses, playsuits and jumpsuits where you can create effortless outfits with just one item, and accessorise to your content. To make things easier, I focused on two of my favourite brands - H&M and Boohoo - which are great for affordable pieces. As well as that, there's a new discovery, Esprit, which has the most beautiful, great quality clothing and accessories. Here are some of my favourite pieces around at the moment...

Dresses and jumpsuits

// Maxi dress, floral jumpsuit, Khaki jumpsuit - Esprit // Shirt dress, Off-shoulder dress- Boohoo //  // Strappy dress - H&M //

Summer brings us the prettiest prints when it comes to fashion, just look at the selection in this wishlist. I love how intricate the prints on these dresses look, like the shirt dress from Boohoo. A statement dress or jumpsuit paired with minimal accessories makes for the perfect summer outfit. Sometimes with longer pieces of clothing a drawstring at the waist looks so flattering, and the adorable maxi dress and two jumpsuits from Esprit do just that, and one of them is Khaki - one of my favourite colours for summer!

With the amount of prints in the previous wishlist, I thought I'd tone it down slightly with this  one. Well, apart from the absolutely beautiful rose printed playsuit from H&M. I mean, how pretty is that? One of the biggest trends this summer is off-shoulder detail, so luckily there are three right here. The black playsuits are so easy to be dressed up or down. The lace detail on the playsuit from Esprit, and the floral laser cut out of the sleeves on the Boohoo playsuit make them very summery in my opinion. The cute stripy playsuit takes a twist on the classic nautical trend, whereas the denim option from Esprit is a lighter alternative to dungarees.

Do you like wearing dresses, playsuits and jumpsuits in the summer? What are your favourite summer trends?

Ever since NYX launched in Boots earlier this year, I've been dying to get my hands on some of their Soft Matte Lip Creams. I'm happy to say they did not disappoint. You're never short of finding matte liquid lipsticks at the moment as they're so on trend, but these are certainly my recommendation as they're so good (and purse-friendly!).

When I first went to get them, I was after nude shades but they were all sold out. So instead of being sensible and saving my money I took the plunge and bought two other shades anyway, I clearly couldn't leave with nothing! The first one is this beautiful true red called 'Amsterdam'. It's so pigmented and not patchy at all like some darker liquid lipsticks, and the colour is fantastic. Next up was this bright but pretty pink named 'Ibiza'. A few weeks later, I managed to pick up this gorgeous nude pink/beige colour 'Cannes'.

I did pretty well with a red, pink and a nude, but the whole colour range is amazing. There's something for everyone. The formula is so creamy and feels so light on the lips, despite how pigmented the colours are. I also like how the shades are named after placed around the world, giving a bit of personality to each one in the collection. The only thing I will warn you about it the smell - it smells like vanilla and it's very sweet which I know can be a love or hate thing! Apart from that, these liquid lipsticks are some of the best around, and they won't do too much harm to your bank account costing £5.50 each.

Have you tried anything from NYX, and what are your favourite liquid lipsticks? A beauty blogger can never have enough!

Believe it or not, this is my first venture into Primark's make up range: P.S. Love. I really wanted to get some nude lip liners and when a friend recommended these ones, I thought 'why not?' as they're only £1 so you're certainly not splashing out!

The colour range is brilliant, ranging from pinks, nude shades and reds. In fact, they're fairly similar to the colours of the Kylie Jenner Lip Kits if you're looking for a much more budget-friendly dupe! The names are simply 'Pink' a pretty, really natural nude pink (like Koko K) and 'Brown' a warm chocolate brown (similar to 'Dolce K'), very 90s. Exactly what it says on the tin.

Despite the price, these lip liners have turned out to be pretty good! The formula is really creamy and lasts a long time on my lips. They can be used just as liner or all over your lips as a single colour, I especially love the brown shade for that! The pink is great for a natural look though. I think you can also match these liners with a number of colours and shades, which makes them so versatile.

Seeing as they are so good and accessible, I'll definitely picking up a few more of these lip liners. My first experience with P.S. Love has definitely been a positive one! Let me know what you think, and if you've tried anything thing from Primark's make up range.

L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Le Vernis A L'Huile

There seems to be a bit of a theme here, doesn't there? The Colour Riche range is just so good I'm willing to write another post about it. This time around, it's nail polishes - Le Vernis A L'Huile.

Firstly, the design of the nail polishes is STUNNING. The bottles are quite big so you get plenty of product, topped with the signature gold packaging that carries on throughout the Color Riche range.

The colour range is incredible with 22 shades in total. I was instantly drawn to these two shades - 224 Rose Ballet and 666 Verb Asynthe. The warm rose and khaki green suit my skin tone perefectly, and I've been looking for a khaki nail polish for ages! I think they're lovely colours for summer as they're a warmer alternative to bright summer colours, although they'll definitely see you through Autumn as well.

The formula goes on the nails like a dream thanks to the wide, fan shaped brush. The colour pigment is blended with precious oils to create a beautiful bold, high-shine colour.

As loyal as I am to Barry M, I have nothing but good things to say about L'Oreal's latest release. For just £5 each, I'm very keen to add more to my collection.

Color Riche La Palette Nude

You can't go wrong with a nude lip. Whether you're going for a natural look or something subtle to complement your eye make up, having a collection of nude shades is a must. To our convenience, Color Riche by L'Oreal have created the perfect lip palette for all skin tones.

As you can see there are six Color Riche shades starting with a light beige, moving onto pinky nudes and finishing with two brown shades. They are easy to wear as individual colours or mixed together to create the colour of your choice, or lighten/darken an existing lip colour. Overall, it's great that all the shades in this palette are wearable in one way or another.

The packaging is gorgeous, black and gold just like the rest of the Colour Riche range. The size isn't to big and the fact that it comes with a mirror and lip brush makes it perfect for travelling or to have in your handbag.

In my opinion, L'Oreal's Colour Riche lipsticks are some of the best that the drugstore has to offer. The creamy formula feels so nice on the lips and gives a satin finish. The colours are very pigmented and easy to build up for more colour.

This is such a good palette for anyone who loves nude lipsticks. As L'Oreal says on their website, you can truly be your own make-up artist and create the shades that are perfect for you.

Have you ever tried this palette? What are your favourite nude lipsticks?

A Light Summer Wishlist

Now that I'm back into blogging, I knew it wasn't going to be long until a wishlist post would be up as they're still one of my favourite posts to read and write. I thought keep it quite simple with this wishlist, as a few of the things I've been eyeing up recently fall into a very light colour scheme. Keep reading for a very aesthetically pleasing wishlist...

While it may seem odd to some of you that I'm including a jumper in this wishlist at this time of the year, some will know very well that summers in the UK aren't always the hottest. Therefore, this thin knit jumper from Topshop would be ideal for chiller summer days or evenings to cover up. However, it's a great basic that couild take you from summer to winter.

When I was on the Topshop website to find the jumper, this beautiful dress caught my eye on the homepage. It's so pretty, from the frills and cold shoulder cut to the gorgeous floral print. Although I'll probably never wear this dress, I can imagine it would be perfect for a summer wedding or for dressing up for dinner on holiday.

I'm waiting for the right moment to buy these gorgeous Converse. It's just the perfect combination - pastel rose leather with rose gold eyelets. Every bloggers dream, right? They look so stylish, but the fact that they are Converse means you can make any casual outfit look a little more special. It's a nice change from the regular designs, and they look so pretty!

There's no better lip colour for this wishlist than a nude lip, and the NYX Lip Lingerie liquid lipsticks have been on my mind for so long. The range of nudes is stunning, from warm browns to pink tones, there's something for all skin tones. For this wishlist, I included the lovely shade Satin Ribbon, a light pink nude.

The perfect make up to complement the light colours in this wishlist would be neutral eyeshadow, such as the Naked Basics palette. It includes all the matte colours you'd need for a natural look, and you can always add a subtle smoky line with the black eyeshadow.

To finish this wishlist, Daisy Eau So Fresh by Marc Jacobs is a feminine, floral scent that is ideal for light summer days.

A new start

I'm very happy to say that emilymillerloves is up and running again. We have a new look, some new content ideas and plenty of motivation to make this blog the best it can be.

I took a bit of time out to focus on my education, and I had a serious case of blogger's block. However, in the last few weeks I've been seriously itching to get back into blogging. It's a hobby that I adore and the fact that there's thousands of other amazing people to connect with makes it even more enjoyable. I've been working on loads of posts that I hope you will love.

If there's anything I've learnt during my break, its that sometimes you have to spend a bit of time away from something to later realise how much it means to you. That sounds very deep, but that's exactly how I felt. Then I slowly started to get back into blogging, and my love for it is stronger than ever!

Part of me was quite nervous about starting again because I have so many dreams and aspirations for emilymillerloves. You know what they say; if your dreams don't scare you, they aren't big enough. To say I relate to that is an understatement, sometimes you just have to go for it and hope for the best!

My blog is rather small so I doubt people will remember me. However, if you do, welcome back to emilymillerloves and I hope you enjoy this next chapter. And if you're new, I'm very thankful for you taking the time to read my blog and I hope you stay. One of my main goals for my blog is to strengthen my relationship with all viewers and within the blogging community, it's amazing how this huge community brings people from all over the world together.

Feel free to comment, follow me on social media, and say hello.  I'm so excited to be starting this new journey with you. Here's to a new start!
