Things I Love About Autumn

I can't help being in an extremely good mood whilst writing this post I LOVE Autumn! There are good things about every season, but what Autumn brings makes this season so warm, cosy and colourful...

1. The colours - Reds, Oranges, Yellows, Greens, Burgundy.. warm Autumn colours are my favourite. I love wearing these colours as much a I love seeing them as the leaves change colour.

2. Hot drinks - I am yet to try a Pumpkin Spiced Latte, but aside from that I love warming myself up with a delicious latte, hot chocolate or tea at this time of year.

3. The weather - Yes, the weather. I am not crazy. What I like about this time of year is that its not too hot or too cold. The sun is shining, but you can feel an Autumn breeze. And as for the rain, I don't really mind it as much as other people seem too (unless I'm outside drowning in it of course) because when I'm inside and listening to the rain and drinking a hot drink, I find it so relaxing!

4. Autumn Style - Fashion and beauty; Autumn style is my favourite! Cosy jumpers and cardigans, tights and boots, hats, scarves and gloves, berry lips and coppery eyes... perfect.

5. Scents - How could I not include the spicy, warm, sweet scents that this time of year brings? I'm talking candles, drinks, food..

6. Events - My birthday is in Autumn (28th October), and that's followed by Halloween and Bonfire Night. Lots of happy times, scary movies, sweet treats and fireworks!

This time of year makes me so happy. Do you like Autumn? What's your favourite season?

Two New Lip Products - Revlon and Tanya Burr!

Recently I added to new lip products to my collection, so it seemed right to do a little review on here!

I've been wanting to venture out and try bolder lip colours lately, and as Autumn is here, it's time for the reds and the berry colours! This lip crayon is the Colorburst Matte Balm in Standout from Revlon, a brand I love for lip products. It's a beautiful, warm red which is perfect for my warm-toned, fair skin. The matte formula lasts pretty much all day, with barely any touch-ups needed and doesn't dry out your lips. This is an ideal colour for this time of year, I really recommend it! Especially from Superdrug, where they're selling this range for just £5 each at the moment.

The lovely YouTuber Tanya Burr released brand new products this summer, and after testing out this lip gloss, I'm impressed. I was a bit skeptical to try this as when I purchased a lip gloss from her range before, I didn't really like it. I found the formula really too sticky and the colour (Just Peachy) was not right for me at all, too light. I didn't get round to trying another one so when the new ones came out, I thought I'd give them a chance! I'm so glad I did; the colour is a lovely pretty pink which you can build up for colour, and has the most adorable name 'Picnic In the Park'. The formula is lovely - not sticky and surprisingly long lasting. And to finish, how nice is the packaging? The gold looks so gorgeous. I'd love to try more lip glosses from Tanya's range, as well as the other products.

What lip products have you tried recently? Have you tried any from this post?

Stationery Haul

Summer is over, and people are getting back into school/college/uni/work. In fact, whilst you're reading this, I'll be starting my second day of college. Therefore, new academic year brings a reason to buy new stationery, which I find is quite fun to buy. Here is my stationery haul..

Paperchase is a great place to go for stationery, they have lots of notepads, folders etc of different pretty prints & sizes. When I went in there last week, they had a 3 for 2 offer on stationery. As I'll be studying 4 subjects at college, I got four A4 notepads; two pink and two purple. They are the perfect size. With the 3 for 2 offer, I got an eraser pen and an eraser/sharpener combined. These products are so useful.

Out of the 3 for 2 offer, I bought I pretty, floral folder to take with me to college, and when the work starts to build up, I'll get separate folders for each subject to keep at home. I also bought this adorable, London themed pen as I always like to have one pretty pen in my pencil case!

Next up, WHSmith. Another great stationery shop, and slightly less expensive than Paperchase. I came here mainly for sets of pens. How cool is this set of ball point pens?! They're so bright and not too big, so they fit perfectly in my pencil case. There's 20 amazing colours to choose from. I also got a pack of ten black ball point pens from Bic and a pack of four highlighters from Stabilo. Essentials!

I can't have all these pens without a pencil case! This cute polka dot one is also from WHSmith.

I got these pencils a few weeks ago from H&M, but I thought I'd include them anyway. They're so cute and hopefully give me some inspiration whilst using them.

That concludes my stationery haul. Good luck to everyone starting school, college, uni, work and whatever else!

How I Clean My Make Up Brushes

Cleaning make-up brushes is such a chore; but once their done, there's nothing better than a clean set of brushes. Ready to use, mess & bacteria free! My way of cleaning brushes is so simple but still effective...

I don't have a professional brush cleaning product, so I just use shampoo which works perfectly. The one I'm using at the moment is from the Herbal Essences Naked range, so it's free from supposedly harmful chemical, which is good for cleaning something that's going on your face! This also has a grapefruit & mint fragrance; so my brushes smelt AMAZING after using it.

To clean them, I fill the sink up with warm water, squeeze in some shampoo and lather it up (like you would when washing up or having a bath). Then I wash each brush one by one and if the water is noticeably dirty, I'll refill the sink. If the make up is hard to remove, I'll lather up shampoo in my hand and rub the brush in my palm.

After that, I lay the brushes on a dry flannel or small towel, sometimes i'll light a candle for extra warmth and to help the brushes dry. Several hours later, my brushes are lovely and dry. It's also important for me to apply some hand cream because my hands feel quite dry after cleaning my brushes. Soap & Glory's Hand Food is a really good one!

And that's how I clean my make up brushes, I think this is quite a popular method within the blogging community. You might have recognized the Zoeva rose gold brushes in this post..a review will be coming soon!

How do you clean your make up brushes?
