The Blogging/Youtube Influence

I’ve been involved in the blogging/YouTube world for a good few years now; both reading/watching and creating my own content. Now it’s part of my everyday life and I’m happy to be part of this ever-growing community. I’ve learnt a lot from the content creators as well as the posts/videos they make and they’ve influenced me in many ways. Some of them are funny, whereas some of the reasons are sweet and a little bit deeper. Either way, you might find them relatable...

1. A constant wishlist of beauty/fashion/homeware/stationary/etc that NEVER stops growing!
2. Learning more about places around the world thanks to travel posts, vlogs and people who live in different locations.
3. Having a clearer idea of what suits me fashion & beauty wise (make up and skincare).
4. Encouraging me to experiment with my style and change it up sometimes.

5. A deeper obsession with candles, stationery, Disney, rose gold...I could go on!
6. Being given tips/advice on every aspect of life from confidence to fashion, beauty, health & fitness, education and more in an friendly, relatable way!
7. To be more positive and appreciate the little things in life.
8. Lots of quotes!

9. To give compliments to people and see the good in everyone, but also remember that no one is perfect.
10. Making Christmas slightly more exciting – vlogmas, gift guides, music, jumpers... just a very happy time in general!
11. To be more accepting of people’s beliefs, opinions, interests and personal style.
12. To work hard to get to where you want to be and put in the effort to achieve your goals.

13. That if you be yourself and stay true to you, the right audience and people will come your way.
14. Realising that more expensive products aren’t a waste of money, and cheaper alternatives can be just as good!
15. Finding/talking to people with the same interests and making friends, and even finding new interests.
16. Being inspired to start my own blog!

If any fellow bloggers are reading this post, I hope you relate to some of these points and comment below anything else you've learnt through blogging/Youtube! However, if you're not a content creator, I hope you enjoyed learning how great blogging can be.

High End Wishlist

It's been a while since I've done wishlist post and they're one of my favourite ones to write.  As you can tell from the title, this wishlist is all about high end products. Not that there's anything wrong with drugstore make-up, some things may be less expensive but just as good! However, it's nice to dream about a bit of luxury every once in a while....

I've heard countless good things about Charlotte Tilbury make up: amazing quality and sophisticated, packaging. What's not to like? The Colour Chameleon eye shadow pencils really interest me as they are specifically designed for certain eye colours. With my blue eyes, I'd love to try Champagne Diamonds and Black Diamonds. Another brand that gets lots of praise in the blog/YouTube is Hourglass, their Ambient Lighting blushers look so beautiful.

Recently I've tried to learn more about what colours and shades suit me and compliment my skin tone - clothes and make-up. Now that I have a clearer idea, I tend to reach for warmer colours to suit my fair, warm skin tone. That's why you'll see MAC's Warm Neutrals eye shadow palette on this wishlist, I think I saw it on a blog post recently and fell in love with it! The warm, bronzy, earthy tones are perfect, I need to get my hands on this one day! Another eye shadow palette that's caught my eye recently is the Too Faced Love Palette, after Zoella used it in her latest tutorial. The colour range looks amazing and the design/packaging is adorable.

I had to include some lip products in this wishlist! Continuing with products that suit my skin tone, I've been trying to look for a suitable nude lip colour for a while. It looks like Taupe by MAC could be an option as it's quite warm, but not too dark. One of my favourite make-up brands is Urban Decay and I can't believe I've never tried one of their Naked lip glosses.

Finishing with fragrance, Chanel Chance Eau Vive is one that I'd love to try. The notes of grapefruit, blood orange and jasmine make this a very fresh, feminine and elegant fragrance. The bottle looks so simplistic but classy and I love the pretty pink colour.

What do you have on your wishlist at the moment?

Things I Love About Summer

We are well into summer now and I hope you're enjoying it. For most schools, the summer holidays begin very soon (mine started a few weeks early once exams had finished). As well as that, I'll be going on holiday to in a couple of weeks. Although I'm an autumn and winter girl at heart, I still enjoy the summer as well. With that being said, I thought I would create a list of what I love about summer...

1. The weather - if we're lucky, here in the UK!

2. Holidays - At home or abroad, they're a great way to relax, create memories and have fun.

3. Barbecues - The smell just reminds me of summer, such good food!

4. The beach - Who doesn't love the beach? It's such a relaxing, fun, happy place.

5. Summer dresses - Floral, stripy, colourful, whatever you prefer. They're definitley my favourite thing to wear during summertime.

6. Less/lighter make up - Nothing worse than heavy make-up melting off on a hot day!

7. Having time off - For the kids at least!

8. Sunsets - One of the most relaxing and beautiful sights we're lucky to have.

9. Picnics - such a cute thing to do whether it's with your family or your friends

10. Ice Cream - yummy!

11. Summer Songs - Everyone has a list of songs that they love to listen to in the summer, and every year we're greeted with more!

12. Bright colours - The sun makes everything look a bit brighter and inspires people to wear more colour.

13. Festivals - Definitely one of my favourite things about summer. Good food, music, fashion and fun!

What do you love about summer? Are you going on holiday or have you already been?

P.S: My blog now has a public Facebook page. It would be great if you could like it to keep up with regular posts and come say hello!

Summer Scents

Like many other people, in the summer I love fresh, clean, floral and fruity scents. I have a few items for homeware and body for this summer. I thought I'd show you what they are...

Body

I love body sprays as they're lighter than perfumes and sometimes more refreshing on a hot day (although I wouldn't say no to Bronze Goddess or any other nice perfume!). I've had these sprays since the spring, and it looks like they're going to see me through the summer too. They are 'Fresh and Clean' and 'Wild at Heart' sprays from Victoria's Secret PINK. I've already done a review on these here so I won't go into too much detail, but they are the perfect scents for the summer, with apple and lily in 'Fresh and Clean', and passionfruit and musk for 'Wild At Heart'. These are currently on offer on their website so go for it if they interest you!

Homeware

You know what I mean by homeware, right? Candles of course, I don't think there's any blogger that doesn't love candles. One of my favourite brands, is Glade. They may not be the most exciting brand but their candles are such good quality and long lasting. Their scents are also quite strong, so you definitely get what you pay for. My summer scent from them is Garden Twist, as you can imagine it results in a fresh and energetic collection of green florals. I also love the design of the candle holder. I would 100% recommend this brand for affordable candles.

Diffusers are also great for making your room smell lovely, and this one happens to be from Tesco. Yes, you read that right. This is the 'Tropical Fruits' scent. Don't be put off because it's a own-brand supermarket product, it's actually really strong and smells amazingly fruity and exotic. How cute is the little bow? We also have Yankee Candle's Beach Walk diffuser in our living room, a beautiful scent that transports you straight to the beach!

Lastly...flowers! I've been wanting flowers in my room for so long as they smell lovely, look pretty, and it's good for you to bring a bit of the outside into your home. At the moment I have lilies and roses on my dressing table.

What scents are you loving this summer? Do you prefer fresh summer scents or the cosy, warm ones that autumn & winter bring?

Liz Earle Skincare Review

I've never really talk that much about skincare on here. I'm not very fussy and when I have a routine I'm happy with, I'll stick with it. A few weeks ago my mum surprised me with some Liz Earle skincare, she's used it for years and I've heard great things about it through blogging as well. Now that I've tried them out properly, it's time for me to review them on here...

I have nothing but good things to say about this range; it's so nice, soothing and gentle on my skin. It also smells lovely and refreshing, with each product containing natural, friendly ingredients.

The 'Cleanse and Polish' cleanser is wonderful to wake up to or to end a long day with. Massage it on to your face with your hands, then wipe of with a muslin cloth. My skin felt so clean, and the scents of Rosemary and cocoa butter made it even better. Toner is probably one of my favourite products to use, I find it so cooling and refreshing and this one ticked all the boxes. It contains Aloe Vera, cucumber and rose-scented geranium - a very healthy mix for your skin. Lastly, the moisturiser really helps to moisturise and smooth the skin, adding radiance and a healthy glow.

I'm so impressed with this range, it's been very good to my skin. I love the packaging too, very clean and simplistic.

Have you ever tried Liz Earle before? What skincare do you use?

Now Playing

I do love my music (I get very carried away on Twitter, sorry!). There have been so many new releases that I've been listening to over the past couple of months. I thought I'd share with you some of the songs that will see me through the summer! My music taste is mainly pop but sometimes I explore little bits of other genres.

Poison - Rita Ora
Want to Want Me - Jason Derulo
Good For You - Selena Gomez
Shine - Years and Years
Lean On - Major Lazer
Kiss Me Quick - Nathan Sykes
Worth It - Fifth Harmony
Black Magic - Little Mix
Not Letting Go - Tinie Tempah ft. Jess Glynne
The Way We Are - Alesha Dixon
Let It Go - James Bay
What You Don't Do - Lianne La Havas

Do you like any of these songs? What's on your playlist at the moment? You might even help me find new music..

OOTD - Floral Dress & Family Day Out

The weather has been extremely good to us Brits lately, so what better way to enjoy than a cute family picnic in the park. Yesterday we went to Morden Hall Park (not too far from Wimbledon!). This section of the park had a beautiful rose garden that I had to get some pictures of! I just love looking and taking photos of of flowers, they're so colourful and pretty. I love how London has several parks and green spaces to enjoy the sunshine in the city.

To match the flowers in the garden (not intentionally haha), I wore a pretty floral dress from H&M. This is from their Coachella range. Although I think they've stopped it now,  I'm sure you can find similar dresses in other stores.

This dress is so light and airy, so easy to wear on a hot day. There is a collage of pink, yellow and white flowers. My small, brown bag is from New Look, which is the perfect size to pack your basic essentials as I wouldn't like carrying a big bag around when it's hot. It goes with almost any outfit. Dresses like this are my favourite things to wear in the summer.

Have you been enjoying the sunshine?

Prom 2015!

Last Friday I had my prom! It was a fun evening with my friends, and good to see most of my year together for one last time. There were some beautiful dresses that really suited people's style and personalities. I thought I would show you what I wore for prom...

First of all...the dress! The colour is pistachio green and was the perfect match for my fair skin and red hair. It made of a silky, chiffon material with a satin waistband. It's quite a simple dress but that's what I was looking for.

Accessories! Can you tell what the colour scheme is here? Yep, gold was the colour decided on; it went well with the dress and suits me more than silver. The lovely heels are from Next and weren't very high as I'm not used to walking in heels yet, but they still gave me a bit of height (even though I was the shortest in my group of friends). I tucked the chain of the handbag inside the bag to use as a clutch, which is also from Next. It's so amazing and sparkly! For jewellery, the statement necklace from Accessorize with pastel - coloured beads matched the dress perfectly. The bracelet is also from Accessorize and the earrings came in a pack from good old Primark.

My make up was quite simplistic and natural with a hint of shimmer. I didn't need foundation so I used my trusty tinted moisturiser from No7 at Boots, as well a concealer and powder. For blusher I used my favourite, Benefit's Hervana, for a pretty pink glow. To go with the gold accessories, I took Half Baked from the Naked 2 palette all over the lid and a light addition of one of the brown shades (I can't remember which one!) through the crease. Lastly, Mac's Cremecup was my lipstick choice to match the pretty pink on my cheeks!

I was very pleased with how my prom look turned out. The great thing was that I didn't have to buy any new make-up, and the accessories were all budget friendly and can be used again for parties and other occasions in the future. If you had your prom this year, I hope you had fun and I'm sure you looked amazing!

What did you wear to your prom? If you haven't had your prom, what look would you go for?
