Berlin

View from our room.
 Olympic Stadium

 The Reichstag, German parliament.
 Brandenburg Gate
The Fernsehturm (television tower)...
...and the view from the top!
Magical Christmas lights in the shopping centre...
 and the Christmas markets outside!
 The Berlin Wall..
...and again.
Padlocks on a gate at the Berlin Wall.
 More pretty lights.
Huge, fancy department store in Berlin.

Last week I went on a trip with school to Berlin, Germany. We went as part of our History GCSE as we are currently studying Germany. It was a very interesting trip that really helped bring what I've been learning to life, although some of it was quite emotional (we visited a concentration camp). However, we had plenty of time for fun like shopping, bowling, Christmas lights and the beautiful view of the city from the top of  The Fernsehturm (television tower).

I love cities, and Berlin ws an amzing place to visit, especially at Christmas. It's quite unique and different to what I imagined, but beautiful nevertheless. It is a city filled with so much history and I'm so glad I got to experience that and the leisure with my friends.

My trip to Berlin was very jam-packed but it really helped put me in the Christmas spirit seeing all the lights and adorable Christmas markets. Now I'm back home and ready to enjoy Christmas and New Year!

Have you ever been to Berlin? If not, would you like to go?

My Top Albums of 2014

Music is something I really enjoy. It's fun, it can inspire and connect with anyone. I can't sing at all, but I can't go a day without listening to it. If you follow me on Twitter, I am almost always tweeting lyrics, haha. Every year brings new music to discover, no matter what your music taste is like. As 2014 is nearly over (which is crazy), let me share with you some of my favourite albums from this year!

This is one of the biggest debut albums of the year, Sam Smith's  In The Lonely Hour. At first, it seemed quite slow and sad, but the more I listened to it the more it grew on me. The songs are beautiful, and his voice is amazing. It's a perfect mix of RnB , pop and soul. I've been listening to it many times this year. My favourite songs are Like I Can, I'm Not The Only One, Life Support and Restart. If you have this album, what do you think of it?

I've become a huge fan of Ariana Grande over the last year. This has been a very successful year for Ariana, with many singles from this album becoming hits all around the world.I loved her first album, Yours Truly, and My Everything is even better! This album is more grown up and I feel like there is a better variety with the songs as they lean towards pop, with a mix of RnB. She is very talented. I would say Bang Bang, Break Your Heart Right Back, Be My Baby and My Everything are my favourite songs.

One of the most anticipated albums of the year was the second release from Ed Sheeran, 'X' or 'Multiply'. For me, it didn't disappoint, although it took a while for me to completely fall in love with it. The songs are so honest and beautiful, they also seem quite relate-able. My favourites from this album are Nina, Photograph, Thinking Out Loud and Afire Love. What do you think about 'X'?

Lastly, how can I not mention this album? Of course, 2014 also saw the release of Taylor Swift's fifth album, 1989! This album inspired by late 80's pop mixed perfectly with today's modern pop. Although it's very different from Taylor's previous albums, it's just as good if not better! I find that even though the sound of the album is different, the lyrics are still as honest, relate-able and beautiful. 1989 has been pretty much on repeat and the song's I've grown to love the most are Blank Space, Style, I Wish You Would and Wildest Dreams. Do you like 1989?

That's my round up of the best albums of the year for me. What have you're favourites been? Are they similar to mine? Let me know, I love talking about music. I wonder what new releases 2015 will bring us...

Welcome back!

Well hello...

So, as I told you a while ago , emilymillerloves was going to have a make over. TADAAA!

I hope you are as happy as I am with this new look. It got to the point where I didn't like the previous style so it was time for a change. Therefore I set myself a challenge to redesign my blog until I was 100% comfortable with it. So, with a little help from Google, the make over is complete. I wanted it to look slightly more mature and sophisticated but still look like fun with a pop of pink. One of the main gadgets I wanted was a slideshow, I think it looks quite professional and it will link you to a post when you click on the image. Now that it looks better, I feel more motivated and confident to post more!

Although it may look different, the content will be similar. Fashion, beauty, life, whatever floats my boat. As the lead up to Christmas has pretty much begun, you can expect a few festive posts too!

That's it for now, I'm looking forward to starting a new chapter with my blog.  If I'm not on here than you can always follow me on Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr. Hope you're all well and I shall be back soon!

I am very much aware of how long I've been away from blogging and I have several reasons why. I've missed it and am pleased to say that I'm back and will try to post as often as I can. Over the last few months things have changed quite a bit but I am happy to say that's I have my blogging mojo back, haha.  So I think I should give you an update and the reasons for why I've been away...

♥ What I've been enjoying lately.. ♥

Hello Everyone!

Here are a few things and places I've been enjoying recently...

Work Experience:
A few weeks ago (can't believe it's been that long!) I was at work experience and I really enjoyed it. I went to Laverstoke Park Farm, which is a farm and also a business so I was able to see the factories, the animals, and the offices. I was in sales, graphics and the dairy factory (rocking overalls and a hair net!). I found it very interesting to see the different aspects of a business and learn a bit about the working world. It also helped to improve my self confidence, as I was talking to a lot more people and trying new things.

Windsor:
My dad took us to Windsor for the day and it's a really nice place. There are lovely shops and places to eat. It also felt very British, with Windsor Castle right next to you. I'd love to go there again!

Ed Sheeran - X:
Recently the second  album from Ed Sheeran was released, and I love it! For some reason I thought it wasn't going to be as good as the first, but I was wrong. The songs are so good and like many people I've had them on constantly. My favourite songs are Nina, Photograph and Tenerife Sea. Have you heard this album?

Summer:
The sun is out and the summer holidays are here! I'm very excited for this summer as I'm going on holiday (look out for posts!) and planning some super fun days out. As well as some fun summer videos. Although I'm more of an Autumn/Winter girl, I think it's important to still make the most of the season I'm in. So here's to the summer!

London:
As you may have seen in my post last week, I went shopping in London! Me and my friend went to London for the first time on our own and we were absolutely fine with making our way around. It was so much fun as I love the city and I hadn't been there in so long. I tried new shops such as Forever 21 and Kiko. Hopefully I can go to London again soon!

♥ New video - London Summer Haul ♥

So the other day me and my friend Susie went up to London on our own for a bit of shopping  and exploring! It was a very good day. It was fun and exciting to make our way to and around the city. London is one of my favourite places. We went to Oxford Street, an amazing place to shop! I also tried shops I'd never been in before which was good. Hopefully we'll be able to go to London again soon, but for now here's a haul for you to enjoy!

Where do you like to shop? Do you like London?

♥ No make-up... and liking it! ♥

Hello Everyone,

Some girls, and women, would never want to be seen without make-up on. I can understand why, putting on make-up can instantly lift you up and make you feel more confident. Most of the time I wear make-up, seeing as fair amount of this blog is based beauty! However, recently I've started to feel completely fine with leaving the house with no make up. It's so nice to give your face a break for a while, and let your natural beauty shine through. I've realized that no one really cares whether you have make-up on or not, their just minding their own business, getting on with their own lives. Your family and true friends won't notice a difference either, as it's your personality that really counts, and they love you! If you can't possibly face going bare-faced, try just using one or two absolute essentials like mascara and concealer. Otherwise, you are naturally beautiful, believe it! And after all...

♥ Thinking Positive - #16 ♥

Hello Everyone!

Emily is back on the blogging wooooo. Over the last couple of weeks or so my motivation to blog and make videos has grown so much, and it feels great!! Yes, there will be posts several times a week, including videos, yay! I hope you enjoy reading and watching as much as I enjoy writing and filming etc! And I reckon the right way to get started is with a 'Thinking Positive' post...

This quote closely links to what I've written above. I love YouTube and blogging, so I'm going to carry on doing it! Do what you love and what makes you happy, love what you do and enjoy it. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks, as long as you're happy. However if people are being supportive, that's great. Focus on the the good things people say as it could encourage you to do what you love even more. Whether it's music, sport, art or blogging, always make sure you're doing what you love. And if don't love what you're doing, try to change that, take a break, or stop it altogether and do something else. It's your choice. There are so many different things in this world and in life to enjoy. Do what you love and love what you do!

What do you enjoy?

♥ Summer Pin-board ♥

Hello Everyone,

If you've seen my videos, you may have noticed a large pin-board behind me.  My pin-board is one of my favourite things in my room. You can use it too keep photos and memories, notes and reminders, or a collage. You can put whatever you like on there. I like to create a collage. It changes a few times throughout the year, so it fits with the season. At the moment there is a Summer theme, pictures of beaches and cities in the summertime. I like my pin-board to make me feel inspired, motivated and happy. There's uplifting quotes, places I dream of visiting, people I love & inspire me, and photos and concert tickets to remind of amazing times I've had, which help me look forward to many more. This is how I personalized my pin-board...

Obviously, you will need a pin-board! The one I have is quite big, but you can use whatever size suits you. You will also need some push pins, these pins have a translucent effect, which make them look quite pretty in opinion!

Next I went to the computer and printed lots of pictures like quotes, places etc and kept aside photographs and concert tickets which were on my pin-board previously. As I said earlier, you can put whatever you like on your pin-board, and this is what I like to do!

The next step is to cut out the pictures, my pictures are a mix of different sizes. Now the fun part, deciding where you want the pictures! Take the time you need to arrange the pictures, overlapping or spaced out, or having them at different angles.Once you're finished you just need to hang the pin-board in your bedroom or wherever you want to. I used green garden wire and hooks on the sides of the board to hang it up.

And then you're finished Take a look at mine..

I'm very happy with the result. I think it looks so pretty and fits in my room very well. It will stay like this for the next few months, until the Autumn comes and the theme will change again. But for now, we'll enjoy the Summer!

How do you like to personalise your room? Do you have a pin-board?
