Topshop Lip Liners


 

I've been searching for some new drugstore lip liners for a while, and after hearing great things about Topshop lip liners I decided to try them out.


I purchased two lip liners from Topshop and I'm very impressed with them. The formula is so soft and creamy but really pigmented. It lasts for a long time as well. I always look for lip liners that I can wear with more than one specific lip product (a good way to save money!), so both of these shades can be worn with so many other products. However, they also look really nice on their own.


With more detail on the shades, the first shade is 'Beestung'. I would describe this as a warm pink colour. It's quite a deep pink but can still be worn as an everyday colour. The second shade is 'Ceramic' - a lovely pink/beige nude. It's that perfect nude shade that can go with so many other lip products. Here are some swatches

Topshop make up has never failed to impress me so I'm very happy with these lip liners. I also adore the packaging - it's perfect for those flatlays!

Casual Winter to Spring Wishlist

The trends for Spring are definitely making their way into the shops. However, we're only in February and it stays cold for quite a while in the UK, so this is a time where Winter and Spring trends combine. With all that being taken into account, here is a little wishlist I put together for this time of year...


One of the biggest trends right now is embroidery. I love the black embroidered skirt from New Look, as well as the two pair of amazing shoes from Topshop (the boots) and Quiz (the trainers). Khaki is a colour that never goes away so I featured this cute t-shirt from Zara, plus the rose reminds me of Beauty and the Beast which I'm SO excited to see this Spring.

Slogans are also a regular trend and this cropped hoodie from H&M with 'empowered' on the front is giving me all the girl power/Beyonce/girl boss vibes. It would look so nice with high-waisted jeans and trainers. Also, the black slogan t-shirt with 'merci beaucoup' (River Island) on the front is cute for any casual outfit.

I included some softer, pastel colours in this wishlist because nothing says Spring like pastel colours! As a blogger, it's impossible to not include any rose gold - so I found this gorgeous backpack from New Look. The oversized shirt from River Island has a really nice pink and white geo print, and it looks so comfortable. On the other side of the wishlist is a light green hoodie, also from River Island, again another really comfortable piece with a Spring colour. Lastly, the super pretty top with bell sleeves is from Red Herring at Debenhams. It looks so girly and romantic, but can easily be made into a casual outfit with blue jeans and beige suede boots, take a look at the cut-out boots from River Island!

There really are some beautiful pieces on the high street right now, perfect for the transition from Winter to Spring. I don't know about you, but I'm a huge fan of the embroidery trend. One of my goals this year was to embrace all of the seasons (i.e. not just Autumn), and it seems to be working.

10 Ways To Cheer Yourself Up


Nobody is invincible and we all have bad days. But there are so many little ways to cheer yourself up and at least try to get on with your day. Here is a list of things I always turn to in order to cheer 
myself up...


1. Listen to music

Music is is always there, for our happiest and saddest times. There's not a day where I don't listen to music, and it cheers me up so much. Put on songs that make you feel good and give you inspiration and confidence. Happy pop songs, songs that scream girl power, and chilled/badass R&B are often what I turn to if I want music to lift me up.


2. Have some coffee

Of course, coffee is always there to make you feel more awake, and I often treat myself to a coffee when I'm out. As long as you remember water is important, too!

3. Spend time with positive people

Talk to people, say yes if you get invited out somewhere, When we're in a bad mood we can often feel alone, so there's nothing better than spending time with friends, family or anyone else who makes you feel happy.


4. Treat yourself! 

There are so many ways to treat yourself, but this time I mean really treat yourself and do some shopping. Get your girls together or have some time to yourself. Sometimes shopping can be the best way to cheer yourself up, don't be ashamed to admit it.

5. Have sometime to yourself

In contrast to my 3rd point, sometimes time to yourself is absolutely necessary. Relax, watch some Netflix or escape with a book. Take a walk. Take the time to process your feelings and soon you'll feel right as rain, ready to spend time with others. Just don't isolate yourself for too long!


6. Get on with your morning routine

When you wake up not feeling yourself, it can be easy to stay in slump and not get out of bed. Try to carry on with your routine but take it easy. Wake up, have some coffee and get ready for your day.

7. Create a vision board

This is a fantastic way to bring some creativity and inspiration back. It can be done in so many ways, too. Print out some pictures and create a board full of inspiration - memories, dream destinations, quotes - the list is endless. Social media outlets can be used as a virtual vision board, including Tumblr and Pinterest. You can even save posts on Instagram now, so can can create a vision board on there. Visualise your dreams, inspirations and what makes you happy.


8. Watch a feel-good movie

Sometimes nothing makes me happier than watching a Disney classic or a girly film I used to love (and still love!). It can make you feel like a kid again and help you escape reality for a little while.

9. Eat some fruit

As much as I love treating myself to something sweet like chocolate, too much of it can make me feel worse. Fruit is sweet and healthy, and sticking to your 5-a-day is good for your body. Fruit is so refreshing as well!

10. Remember everyone has bad days

Not everyone can feel 100% happy and positive all the time, we need bad days in order to appreciate the good ones. Accepting your feelings, letting them process and then taking time to cheer yourself up is so much healthier than bottling them up altogether.

Current Base Products



In the winter, when my skin is more dry, I like to have a base that makes my skin look dewy and awake. A healthy glow. It's also important for me to find products that are a good match for my pale skin which I prefer to embrace rather than mask. With that being said, I still like to contour to give some dimension to my face. This has been my go-to base routine for the last couple of months.


My primer of choice at the moment is the L'Oreal True Match Liquid Glow Illuminator (such a log name!). This product has multiple uses for same purpose - it can be used as a base/primer on your cheekbones, cupids bow and forehead, or mixed with foundation to illuminate the face and add a glow. I have the shade 'Icy Glow', which is icy pink colour targeted toward those with fair to medium skin. The finish is very light weight and so easy to blend, so don't be too scared by the word 'illuminate'! I have received compliments since wearing this primer, and I can notice a glow when i wear it. For £6.99, it's definitely worth trying out.


The L'Oreal theme continues my with my current favourite foundation. Last year, the True Match foundation range had a massive revamp, with 23 shades to suit all skin tones. I have so much respect for L'Oreal for creating such a diverse shade range, from porcelain to the darkest skin tones. My current shade is 1.C (the lightest shade) and the model for this shade is one of my favourite youtubers and fellow redhead 'MrsRosieBea'. It really is the perfect match for my fair skin, and the velvety formula blends effortlessly to create a flawless, almost natural base. There is no doubt that you'll find your ideal shade, especially for just £9.99!


I've mentioned this concealer so many times on this blog, so we'll keep this one pretty simple. The Naked Skin concealer by Urban Decay is my absolute favourite because it gives fantastic coverage that lasts all day without feeling heavy. I use the shade 'fair' which again is perfect for my skin tone and really brightens up my complexion. As its high end, it is on the more pricey side at £17,50. However, one tube of this lasts so long and the good quality makes it worth the money.


Lastly, for powder we go back to L'Oreal with the Infallible Matte Powder. In contrast to my glowy base, I like to use a a bit of mattifying primer to set everything in place. and even for a sheer amount of coverage. I'll mainly use it on the areas I applied my concealer and a lighter dusting of it where I applied foundation. Depending on how much you use, it won't hide the glow create by the previous three products.


There is my current base routine. I'm really happy with it because it creates a flawless, glowy, natural looking base to brighten up your skin during these winter months. These products have all become staples in my make up collection.
